Paid 2D file preparation
Turn a clear drawing, dimensioned sketch, suitable sample part or existing design file into reviewed 2D cutting geometry. Drafting scope, cost and timing are confirmed before work starts.
This is a reviewed service, not an instant-upload route. Photos, screenshots and 3D references cannot go directly to a cutting machine.
Useful source material defines the intended shape and provides enough reliable information to reproduce it at the correct size. Send the clearest version available and identify every critical dimension.
A legible hand sketch can be reviewed when it shows overall size, hole positions, radii, quantities and the units used.
Existing drawings, vector PDFs and marked-up documents can provide the geometry and production notes needed for a clean 2D profile.
Suitable flat parts may be measured and redrawn. Wear, damage and the intended target dimensions must be resolved before approval.
A photo can explain the part, but it is not a reliable scale reference by itself. Add clear dimensions or provide a sample for review.
Open paths, duplicate lines, incorrect scale and non-vector artwork can be assessed for conversion into usable cutting geometry.
A STEP model may help explain an assembly or flat profile, but the production output for these cutting services is approved 2D geometry.
The approved geometry should be drawn at 1:1 scale with consistent units, closed outlines and no duplicate or overlapping paths. Text or logos must be represented as usable vector geometry rather than a screenshot or embedded bitmap.
The file should also identify the correct revision and correspond with the material, thickness and quantity being quoted. A clean DXF, DWG or vector PDF may then be suitable for the online pricing route; unusual features, supplied material, critical fits or coordinated finishing should still receive a reviewed quotation.
A tidy file does not prove that the design is correct for its intended use. Check the profile against the source requirements and approve the nominated revision before material is cut.
Send the sketch, drawing, photo, sample details or source file with the material, thickness, quantity, units and intended cutting process where known.
The team reviews whether the reference is sufficient, identifies missing information and quotes the paid drafting work before it starts.
The agreed profile is redrawn or cleaned so the geometry is scaled, closed and suitable for the selected laser, router or digital-knife process.
The customer confirms dimensions, hole positions, revision, material and functional requirements. Critical dimensions must be identified explicitly.
Cutting is priced or released only after the applicable drawing and production details have been approved. Later changes are handled as a new revision.
This service prepares 2D geometry for cutting. It does not provide mechanical, structural or safety engineering, certify a component, determine guarding compliance or select a material for the customer's application.
The responsible designer, engineer, manufacturer or customer must define the part's function, material, tolerances and approval requirements.
Drafting is a separate paid service and is quoted before work starts. The source quality, geometry complexity, number of parts, missing dimensions and requested revisions can all affect the scope.
Material and cutting are quoted separately unless the written quotation states otherwise. The drafting quotation should identify the agreed deliverable and revision allowance; do not assume unlimited changes or that a cutting price is included.
You must have the right or permission to reproduce any artwork, branded design or component supplied for drafting. LCE's existing policy states that customer files are treated as confidential and used only to produce the order.
If an editable file or future reuse is important, ask for that deliverable to be stated in the quotation. Keep your own approved master and revision archive.
Send the clearest drawing, sketch, sample details or source file available, along with dimensions, material, thickness and quantity.
